It’s official. Blue Ivy Carter is way, way cooler than us civilians can ever hope to be, and her latest Instagram photo shoot proves it.
With Beyoncé as a mum and the equally stylish Solange Knowles as her aunty, fashion runs in Blue Ivy’s veins, making it no surprise that the four-year-old’s [turning five on the 7th Jan] dress-up games are a little more high-end than our childish efforts.
In a series of snaps posted to Solange’s Instagram, Blue strikes a pose in a particularly Gucci-esque outfit, wearing a pink ruffled shirt with a tulle skirt in a co-ordinating cerise shade, her hair worn up a simple topknot – every fashionista’s style of choice. The finishing touches? A floral neck tie and a pair of Rayban Wayfarer sunglasses. Alessandro Michele – who helped out Queen B with the outfits for her now-iconic Formation video – would certainly approve.
As Solange so rightly puts it ‘Gucci campaigns can’t even touch her w[ith] a pinky toe…’ In fact, we’re pretty sure that Blue has more attitude in her little finger than most of us mere mortals can ever aspire to.
Even better, #proudauntie Solange reveals that – like any budding style icon – Blue Ivy is all about managing her own aesthetic, as ‘She does her OWN photo edits / selections… as she should.’ We’d expect nothing less from the daughter of Bey – she’s learned from the best.
It’s far from the first time that Blue has slayed the fashion game. In the Formation video, she dances in a vintage lace dress that echoes her mum’s Zimmerman outfit, and to celebrate the release of visual album Lemonade, what else would she wear but a lemon print ‘50s style?
As Beyoncé herself would put it, FLAWLESS. Bow down to Blue Ivy.
