At yesterday's visit to RAF Brize Norton, Kate Middleton struck the perfect smart-casual note in a tailored top half - a sand-coloured blazer from Reiss - and navy trousers from Jigsaw. Middleton is also, however, the master of affordable earrings and yesterday's pair were no exception.

They're also perfect earring to have in your everyday arsenal when you don't want something too statement or shoulder-grazing, and would look just as sharp with a swishy floral dress as they would with tailoring.
