Phoebe Dynevor Is The New Face Of Self Portrait

While it may feel like months since we were all swept up in Bridgerton fever, it seems the world is still obsessed with the Netflix show, which has prompted discussions about everything from the sex scenes to Regencycore, a brand new trend influencing fashion and lifestyle. As one of the major breakout stars of the show, Phoebe Dynevor has found herself on magazine covers (hello, Grazia) and doing countless interviews across the world, but it was just a matter of time before she was recruited to front a fashion brand. Her debut campaign? It's for Self Portrait's new collection.

For autumn/winter 2021, the London-based brand decided to photograph Dynevor at home wearing a range of pieces from the new range. These include some of Self Portrait's signature dress shapes, as well as knitted separates and tailoring, too. Founded by Han Chong, the brand is renowned for its accessible take on luxury, with famous fans including the likes of Meghan Markle, Zendaya and Michelle Obama.

In a statement, Dynevor said: 'I was delighted and honoured that Han chose me to work with him and such a talented team on his latest collection. I first spotted one of his dresses on a photoshoot and it was an instant love affair. Han's collections for Self-Portrait have always been an inspiration, I love the strong structures he creates from such delicate and stunning fabrics and this collection is a testament to his incredible work. I’m so proud to be a part of this new project and hope to have a chance to wear the pieces when life goes back to normal again!'

Indeed, it will be exciting to have an occasion on the horizon again for which to buy a new dressand this collection has ample choice. Chong said he was inspired by the 'effortless approach to British style' and, with the images of Dynevor shot by British photographer Nigel Shafran in London, it feels like the entire campaign is something of a tribute to these shores.

'I felt we needed to work with someone to bring this to life rather than present the collection in a traditional show format,' says Chong of his choice to recruit Dynevor. 'Having captured the hearts and imaginations of so many people over the last few months, I knew Phoebe would be the perfect woman. The moment I met her, I loved how down-to-earth she was whilst still having this incredible spirit and energy that perfectly emulates the attitude and values of the Self-Portrait brand. She is warm, independent, sensitive, expressive and completely captivating. It’s been a real joy getting to know and work with Phoebe and I’m incredibly excited to have her on this journey with us.'
